Pregnancy & Birth Program.

Our Pregnancy & Birth Program is designed to prepare your body and pelvic floor for pregnancy, childbirth and beyond.

We offer two programs, depending on your chosen delivery method (vaginal delivery or caesarean delivery).

Pregnancy & Birth Program Vaginal Delivery

Session 1 - Pelvic Floor

  • This session is all about optimising your pelvic floor to decrease your risk of future pelvic floor issues (think prolapse and leaking!).

During this session, your women’s health physio will ask about any current pelvic floor symptoms (bladder, bowel and intercourse symptoms) and will use a screening tool to predict your risk of future pelvic floor problems.

This will be followed by a pelvic floor assessment and prescription of a personalised pelvic floor exercise program.

You will be provided with education about your pelvic floor including: what is it? where is it? why is it so important? and steps you can take to help minimise pelvic floor issues in the future.

    • your individual risk factors for future pelvic floor dysfunction

    • what and where is your pelvic floor

    • the importance of your pelvic floor

    • the affect of pregnancy and childbirth on your pelvic floor

Session 2 - Abs, pelvis and spine

  • In this session you will learn about the physical changes that occur to your body during pregnancy.

We cover conditions such as abdominal separation, pelvic girdle pain and rib/thoracic pain.
